Dow Wolff Cellulosics has extended its Controlled Release Alliance with Colorcon, Inc. further into Asia Pacific to also include Japan. Effective January 1, 2008, Colorcon has assumed distribution rights for all Dow Wolff Cellulosics controlled release pharmaceutical products in Japan. Dow product brands available via the alliance include METHOCEL™ hypromellose polymers (controlled release and LV), premium or NF grade ETHOCEL™ ethylcellulose polymers and POLYOX™ water-soluble resins used in pharmaceutical applications.
The original Controlled Release Alliance was announced in New York by Dow and Colorcon in March 2007 in order to better service customers' controlled release formulation development and was implemented in the rest of Asia Pacific as of July 1, 2007.
The Dow Wolff Cellulosics strategy is focused on providing pharma customers with superior quality products and developing new ways to use them. The goal is to help develop one of the most effective and efficient drug delivery solutions through advancements in polymer and science technology. By teaming with Colorcon, Dow Wolff Cellulosics is able to further invest in the product lines and application and technology development.
